Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 12 slider buns (Hawaiian sweet rolls recommended)
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese (cut into quarters)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted, for toasting buns)
  • 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese (block, cubed)
  • 8 oz pepper jack cheese (cubed)
  • 4 oz salami (folded into ribbons)
  • 4 oz prosciutto (thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup dill pickles (spears or chips)
  • 1 cup cornichons
  • 1 cup mixed olives (green and kalamata)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup whole grain mustard
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, or pecans)
  • 1 cup pretzels (mini twists or sticks)
  • 1 cup grapes (red or green)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Make the slider patties: In a large bowl, combine 1 lb ground beef, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, and 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently with your hands. Form into 12 small patties, about 2 inches wide.
  3. Cook the sliders: Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side for medium doneness. In the last minute, top each patty with a quarter slice of cheddar cheese and cover the pan with a lid to melt the cheese.
  4. Toast the slider buns: Slice the slider buns in half. Brush the cut sides with melted butter. Place them on a baking sheet, cut side up, and toast in the preheated oven for 3-5 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Assemble the sliders: Place each cheesy patty on a toasted bun bottom. Add a pickle slice if desired. Place the bun tops on. Secure each slider with a toothpick.
  6. Prepare the charcuterie board: Take your large board or platter. Place small bowls for mustard, honey, olives, and nuts. Arrange them first.
  7. Arrange the cheeses and meats: Cube the sharp cheddar and pepper jack. Fold the salami slices into ribbons. Drape the prosciutto in loose folds. Place these in clusters around the bowls.
  8. Add the pickles and vegetables: Scatter dill pickles, cornichons, cherry tomatoes, and grapes in small piles around the board.
  9. Add the crunchy elements: Sprinkle mixed nuts and pretzels in the remaining empty spaces.
  10. Place the sliders: Arrange the mini sliders in a row or cluster in the center or one side of the board. Garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs.
  11. Serve immediately: Place the board in the center of your table or coffee table. Let everyone grab, dip, and enjoy.

Notes

For best results, use 80/20 ground beef for juicy sliders. Toast the buns to prevent sogginess. Let patties rest 2-3 minutes after cooking. Serve sliders warm and cold components chilled. Leftover sliders can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in a 300°F oven for 5-7 minutes.
