These air fryer wings are perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, coated in a savory garlic and Parmesan seasoning. Ready in under 30 minutes, they’re a crowd-pleasing appetizer or main dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Olive oil spray
  • Optional: fresh parsley, extra Parmesan, lemon juice for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat the wings completely dry with paper towels to remove as much moisture as possible.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
  3. In a large bowl, combine baking powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until evenly blended.
  4. Add the dried wings to the bowl and toss thoroughly until every surface is coated with the seasoning mixture.
  5. Spray the air fryer basket lightly with olive oil spray.
  6. Arrange the wings in a single layer in the basket, leaving at least half an inch between each wing. Work in batches if necessary.
  7. Cook at 380°F for 12 minutes. Do not open the basket during this time.
  8. Flip the wings using tongs, then spray the tops lightly with olive oil spray.
  9. Cook for another 10 to 12 minutes, until golden brown and crispy. If needed, add 2 more minutes and check again.
  10. Check the internal temperature with an instant-read thermometer; it should reach at least 165°F (74°C). For extra tenderness, aim for 175°F (80°C).
  11. Transfer the hot wings to a clean bowl. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and toss gently to coat.
  12. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crispiness, season the wings a day ahead and refrigerate uncovered on a wire rack. Add Parmesan after cooking. If using frozen wings, thaw first and pat dry. Do not overcrowd the basket. Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 375°F for 4-5 minutes.
