These Easy Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sliders are the perfect game day recipe. The chicken comes out incredibly tender and juicy, soaked in a perfectly balanced buffalo sauce, and served on buttery toasted buns with blue cheese and celery.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Frank’s RedHot Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1216 slider buns
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted (for buns)
  • ½ cup blue cheese crumbles (optional)
  • 23 celery ribs, thinly sliced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Lightly spray the inside of a 4-6 quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together Frank’s RedHot, melted unsalted butter, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker in a single layer.
  4. Pour the buffalo sauce mixture evenly over the chicken, ensuring each breast is coated.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 4-5 hours or on HIGH for 2-3 hours, until the chicken shreds easily and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  6. Carefully remove the chicken to a cutting board or large bowl. Shred with two forks.
  7. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker with the remaining sauce. Stir to coat. Let sit on WARM for 15-20 minutes.
  8. Preheat the broiler. Split slider buns in half and place cut-side up on a baking sheet. Brush with melted butter. Broil for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Assemble sliders: pile buffalo chicken onto bottom buns, top with blue cheese crumbles and sliced celery, then place top buns on.
  10. Serve immediately.

Notes

Don’t overcook the chicken; 4 hours on LOW is ideal. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before shredding. Toast the buns to prevent sogginess. For a party, keep the chicken warm in the slow cooker on WARM and let guests assemble their own sliders.
