These Easy Turkey Spinach Pinwheel Roll-Ups are a quick, crowd-pleasing appetizer made with cream cheese, deli turkey, fresh spinach, and mozzarella, all rolled up in flour tortillas and sliced into perfect spirals. Ready in just 20 minutes, they’re perfect for parties, lunchboxes, or a lazy afternoon snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large flour tortillas (10-inch)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 8 ounces thinly sliced deli turkey
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 23 green onions, finely sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 12 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese: Take it out of the fridge at least 30 minutes before starting, or microwave in a bowl for 10-15 seconds until soft but not melted.
  2. Make the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth and creamy. Fold in chopped spinach, shredded mozzarella, and sliced green onions until evenly distributed.
  3. Prep your work surface: Lay a tortilla flat on a cutting board. If cold, warm in the microwave for 10 seconds wrapped in a damp paper towel to make it more flexible.
  4. Spread the filling: Using a spatula, spread about 3 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture evenly across the entire tortilla, going all the way to the edges. The layer should be about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Layer the turkey: Place 2-3 slices of turkey evenly over the cream cheese mixture, overlapping slightly.
  6. Roll it tight: Starting at one edge, roll the tortilla tightly toward the other end, keeping the filling tucked in. Press gently to seal at the end.
  7. Wrap and chill: Place the rolled tortilla seam-side down on plastic wrap, wrap tightly, and twist the ends. Repeat with remaining tortillas. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (1 hour is better).
  8. Slice and serve: Unwrap the chilled rolls and slice into 1-inch pieces using a sharp serrated knife with a gentle sawing motion. You should get about 8-10 pinwheels per roll.
  9. Arrange and garnish: Place pinwheels cut-side up on a serving platter. Sprinkle extra chopped green onions on top if desired.

Notes

Don’t skip the chilling step—it helps the rolls hold their shape for clean slicing. Use a serrated knife for best results. Wipe the knife between cuts to keep pinwheels neat. These can be made a day ahead and taste even better after the flavors meld overnight. For freezing, freeze whole rolls (unsliced) for up to 2 months.
